somerset pillboxes

Further on, just south of the bridge at Fordgate, is this overgrown Type 24 pillbox.

Travelling on we have now reached an area called Whites.  To the right of the red barn, in the middle of the picture, there is a Type 24 pillbox.  In it's elevated position, the defenders would have had a good oversight of enemy troop movements in the rear of the west bank.  The box looks to be in good condition from the outside.  It appears to be in use as a farm building, maybe a chicken hutch, as it has a framework fixed to it's rear side covered with wire netting.
