| North of Chard Junction the
Taunton Stop Line ran just to the east of the route taken by the Southern
Railway and the River Axe, heading south with a brief detour into Dorset and
then on down into Devon. Here in Broom
Lane, Tytherleigh, is a road block site situated to the west of the
bridge over the River Axe. There are two huge reinforced concrete
blocks, one each side of the road, but they are badly overgrown. [Map ref. ST 32579 02495] |
