At Torcross, south of the memorial on Slapton Sands, a number of beach defence structures were built against the cliff.  Two structures are still visible but the others are very badly overgrown.

A gun emplacement, the uppermost of the two structures that remain visible, faces north-east - up the beach.

The lower structure, a pillbox variant, also faces north-east.
