This post overlooks the Taunton to Wiveliscombe road.  Ladder retaining bolts still remain on each of the posts although the ladders have been removed. The Silk Mills structure still retains it's ladder.

In the right of the picture is the sheltered entrance to the structure.  Another defence post is located at Map ref. ST 202259.
