| Vale House pillbox with it's new replacement roof (see previous page). The structure was scheduled as a monument in 2002 as it then retained it's original pitched roof, which has since been removed as it was beyond repair. Pillboxes which have retained their original pitched roofs are very rare as relatively few structures had the roofs added as part of their wartime camouflage. (photos 01.01.07) |
