This 6 pounder anti-tank gun
emplacement is just east of the disused railway bridge and the roof is just
below the level of the road which runs over the bridge. The
emplacement faces north (358 deg.) up the old GWR track.

This emplacement would have
housed a 6 pounder Hotchkiss anti-tank gun (these were reconditioned WWI
guns).
In this picture you can see, to
the right, the pedestal upon which the Hotchkiss gun mounting would have
been bolted. In the right of the picture there appears to be a narrow
opening
which would have been very useful if the defenders had to evacuate the
structure under fire. Not all anti-tank emplacements had an 'emergency
exit'.
