This 6 pounder anti-tank gun emplacement is just east of the disused railway bridge and the roof is just below the level of the road which runs over the bridge.  The emplacement faces north (358 deg.) up the old GWR track.

This emplacement would have housed a 6 pounder Hotchkiss anti-tank gun (these were reconditioned WWI guns).

In this picture you can see, to the right, the pedestal upon which the Hotchkiss gun mounting would have been bolted.  In the right of the picture there appears to be a narrow opening which would have been very useful if the defenders had to evacuate the structure under fire.  Not all anti-tank emplacements had an 'emergency exit'.
