Standing just to the south of the West Somerset Railway track on Ker Moor, between Blue Anchor and Dunster, is this Type 24 variant, beach defence pillbox.  In the background lies an earlier defensive structure - Dunster Castle.

[Map ref. ST 00995 43734]

The structure has an unusually large embrasure in it's front wall which faces northwards towards the beach and Blue Anchor Bay.  Some Type 24's have a large embrasure in their front walls (see Forton - on the Taunton Stop Line) but this is the largest I've seen.  This photo, and two on the following page, were taken on maximum zoom from Blue Anchor beach so the quality is not good.

From the east, photographed from a train.

From the north-west.
