Travelling
south along the Bridgwater & Taunton Canal we come to Huntworth. This pillbox is at the bottom of a cottage
garden alongside the canal. It has been owned by British Waterways and
was used by their employees as a foul weather shelter. The ownership of
the box has now passed to the owners of the cottage. Standing on
private property, the box appears to have escaped the usual graffiti
suffered by the majority of boxes. Huntworth had, I believe, six
pillboxes on the Stop Line, one has been completely demolished and the
other three I cannot find.
