The interior of the Victorian soldiers barrack room, later used as a mess-hall for soldiers during WWII.  At the far end, on the right, is the kitchen serving hatch.  There were two open fire grates, even so it must have been pretty cold in the winter (there was of course, a roof, back in those days!)

Looking through the serving hatch into the kitchen.
