On the cliffs above the beach
east of Branscombe Mouth is this beach defence Pillbox Variant.

The structure faces south (172
deg.) toward the beach and is set low into the ground. The front wall
is overgrown so the number of loopholes built into it is not known.
The west wall (above) has two loopholes, one of which is overgrown.
The entrance, in the north wall,
has one loophole each side of the door. Since WWII, most of the
block shuttering has been removed.
