This beach defence Pillbox Variant lies to the west of Branscombe Mouth, Branscombe.  The structure, which is set low into the ground, is oblong in plan with two loopholes in the front wall which faces east (108 deg.).

It is block shuttered, some blocks having fallen away. One loophole is built into the north wall and one into the south.

The entrance, in the west wall, has three loopholes to it's right.  Two loopholes can just be seen in this photo, the third is covered with undergrowth.

Looking eastward along the beach from the front of the structure.  The pillbox shown on the following page is on the cliff top in the centre left of this photo.
