somerset pillboxes

On Bossington beach, in Porlock Bay, lies this Type 24 beach defence pillbox with it's weathered covering of pebbles giving it a rather reptilian appearance.

[Map ref. SS 89165 48395]

The box faces north-west (345 deg.)

The base of the structure has been eroded.

The entrance and the 2 rifle loopholes.  These rifle loopholes are tall and narrow compared with those in standard Type 24's.
